Media Experience
- Dot.Talent [London, UK]
As a junior content editor at Dot.Talent, I'm producing video features for mobile applications as part of a digital publishing team specialising in enhancing the online presence of celebrity talent. - MEDIA EDGE [Toronto, Ontario, Canada]
Produced promotional web videos for publishing house in Toronto. I primarily worked as a ‘one man band,’ carrying a shoulder-mounted camera, lighting as well as conducting interviews on the go. I gradually became quick with the camera and editing, generally taking 1 day to shoot and another day to edit for a standard three minute video with motion graphics. - TORONTO STAR [Toronto, Ontario, Canada]
As a "radio roomer" at the Star my roles and deadlines were never-ending. I monitored city police, EMS and fire services on scanners for instant online stories. I also monitored feeds from other city services, politicians and law enforcement officials for additional sourcing. I contributed to reports on breaking news for the 5.6 million member community. - WOAI TV, NBC [San Antonio, Texas]
At the NBC affiliate in San Antonio, I helped reporters and editors on daily breaking news coverage, sweeps packages and online content. I also assisted in the production of the weekend entertainment show, San Antonio Living. - NOWCAST SAN ANTONIO [San Antonio, Texas]
I worked with a hyper-local community news aggregator with an emphasis on teaching citizen journalism. I became familiar with multimedia tools like Ustream and Kyte, while learning storytelling on different platforms. I designed flyers, leaflets, logos and video stamps for the Web and started online video projects while NOWCast got their website up and running. - SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS [San Antonio, Texas]
I worked with the crime team at the Express-News where my duties included writing breaking crime stories, producing and editing video packages for the website and cultivating sources. Watch the video package that I produced for the Express-News that won an award from a national organization. - SCRIPPS HOWARD FOUNDATION WIRE [Washington, D.C.]
I reported from Washington during the Spring of 2009. I covered the 2009 presidential inauguration and various legislation going through the United States Congress. I produced multimedia packages that were published by the foundation's wire and Scripps publications. - THE LAREDO MORNING TIMES [Laredo, Texas]
I gained experience in court reporting, feature writing and learned to report bilingually for the internationally circulating newspaper. - THE UNIVERSITY STAR [San Marcos, Texas]
I was a reporter for this award-winning campus publication, since August of 2006. I covered topics from on-campus biodiesel production to local crimes and a unique "Body Farm" that is used to study human decomposition. - KTSW 89.9 FM [San marcos, Texas]
Used broadcast-style writing and reporting while producing stories for a weekly themed show and daily newscasts. Visit the portfolio page to hear the stories that aired.
